I completed my BA in Religious Studies from McMaster University, in Hamilton, Ontario and then went on to complete my Specialist Degree (BA Hons) and MA in Egyptology at the University of Toronto. I completed my PhD at the University of Liverpool in England on the Book of Caverns. I have been a sessional lecture at the University of Toronto since 2019 and also at the University of British Columbia since 2023. I was the President for the Society for the Study of Egyptian Antiquities (SSEA), Toronto Chapter from 2020-2022 and I continue to be an active member of this and various other Egyptological societies. I have taught courses on Egyptian religion, the Underworld Books, sexuality in ancient Egypt, ancient Egypt in Film, and also the history of ancient Egypt. I have presented at various conferences in Europe and in North America and I have been invited to speak on the Book of the Dead and the Book of Caverns at various seminars, Egyptology societies, and museums in England. I have published items on various aspects of Egyptian religion and on the Book of Caverns. I was also a consulting Egyptologist with the Bolton Museum in England, where I provided hieroglyphic translations of text for their renovated Egyptian gallery.
