Dr. McCarty regularly teaches a range of courses at all levels, from introductory courses on Classical Archaeology, to courses on Roman archaeology, ancient religion, and Greek/Roman art. This includes a course on Greek and Roman technology in its social contexts, that especially welcomes undergraduate students from across the university interested in engaging with applied science and technology. Dr. McCarty is also the director of field excavations for the Apulum Roman Villas Project in Romania– a UBC GoGlobal seminar where students can join Dr. McCarty in the field and learn archaeological excavation practices.
Congratulations, Dr. McCarty, on this extremely well-deserved recognition!
