We at the Ancient Mediterranean and New Eastern Student Association take great pride in serving as the recognized student body for the AMNE department. Our primary goal is to advocate for student interests in faculty gatherings while organizing exciting events that are centred around AMNE-related topics.
We firmly believe in providing opportunities for students to explore disciplines within the department beyond traditional coursework! At the same time, we have made it our mission to foster a sense of community among students, providing a platform for networking, collaboration, and support. We also aim to connect students who are not affiliated with the department with AMNE-related subjects.
As an organization, we value diversity and accessibility and we are committed to building and celebrating diversity at UBC in both ancient and modern contexts. We are dedicated to meeting the needs of students and ensuring that learning about this part of the ancient world is accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
