Professor Franco De Angelis has been awarded the Arthur Dale Trendall Fellowship by the Institute of Classical Studies of the University of London. The fellowship was inaugurated in 2000 in memory of Arthur Dale Trendall for senior scholars from universities outside the UK, who work on the same areas of interest as Professor Trendall, including ancient Italy and classical art history. The awardee is expected to spend a minimum of six weeks at the Institute and to deliver the Trendall Lecture.
He has also been awarded a research fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation for three months. He will be hosted by Professor Martin Bentz of the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn, who is an expert in the archaeology and history of pre-Roman Italy and its economics, making him a perfect fit for the book project that Franco will be working on while on study leave in the next academic year.
