Professor Susanna Braund has been elected as a Corresponding Fellow to the Australian Academy of the Humanities, which is the highest honor for achievement in the humanities in Australia. She has been recognized for her international leadership on imperial Latin literature and the reception of Roman antiquity.
Corresponding Fellows are elected in recognition of their outstanding contribution in a field of the humanities and who are not usually resident in Australia but retain connections and collaborations with Australian scholars.
In a statement, President of the Academy, Professor Joy Damousi FASSA FAHA congratulated all newly elected Fellows, recognizing their exceptional contribution to the humanities and arts in Australia and internationally:
“The work of the humanities is central to our culture, to our identity and to our future. Understanding the histories, heritages, languages and cultures of our own people, and of those around the world, will enable Australia to thrive in an ever changing and dynamic world.”
